Samsung PN42B450 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV

The price is good on these TVs, but the catch is the energy of the plasma used much more than LCD. I like the picture and the price, but I do not like what he did for the bills. To me, this TV is a 1-2kW hours / day increase in consumption of energy and purpose for me is a significant amount. If it were not already on the wall I change against a more expensive LCD model. LCD TVs are also lighter, which can be important when it comes to handling and mounting.

This will be a non-technical review in detail some very good reviews, please take for what it is. I have two HD LCD TV, monitor, old but good Syntax Olevia 27-inch and 46 inch Sharp, who has been robbed before I really learned to appreciate. On both the HDTV viewing experience was fantastic from my point of non-technical side, while standard definition shows were great images and better colors, but no loss of quality. I was going to buy another LCD, but has been involved in this Samsung plasma by high prices and deal with Amazon. . . thought that if she got up, like the last, my pocket loss is reduced. And I was surprised by my disappointment. I'm 30 miles north of Albany, NY, a subscriber to Direct TV for a lot of channels in standard definition and relatively few HD channels. The show regularly beaten, especially on a background of light, have a gradient or halo effect around the edges of images, such as the face of someone who is really annoying. Switching off my venerable Olevia attached to the same HD Direct Tivo, and the problem disappears. I was also concerned about the detailed instructions in the (excellent) manual on how to avoid burn-in. Other commentators say that this is less a problem with the latest plasma, but why would I even need to worry? Furthermore, the screen is off when there is a dramatic dark black like my LCD, but a dull gray, like an old TV tube. I'm not so unhappy that no return, but certainly buy the same model again. And probably think twice before buying a plasma from any manufacturer.
